Applying to Study Abroad Programs
Students who are considering studying abroad should first contact the Study Abroad Coordinator, Ulli Schraml, by email (uschraml@whatcom.ctc.edu) or phone (360-383-3244) to make an appointment for an initial meeting.
The following is a general description of the application procedure for study abroad programs:
Planning:
- Prepare a list of questions for the Study Abroad Coordinator
- Schedule an appointment with the Study Abroad Coordinator
- Complete WCCCSA Preliminary Application
Applying:
- Fill out program application forms
- Provide an unofficial copy of transcripts (with minimum GPA 2.5)
- Write a one-page narrative about yourself, your interests, your goals, your expectations for study abroad
- Provide two letters of recommendation (including one from a faculty member)
- Bring all above listed documents to the interview including a check for the deposit
- Apply for Financial Aid (optional)
Preparing for Departure:
- Apply for a passport, or make sure your current passport is valid
- Complete Medical Form
