Welcome to the Student Update page. Each quarter, International Programs will post important and interesting information for Whatcom international students. We hope that you find the information useful, and that you will check this page often during your studies at Whatcom.

Important Dates and Information

Sprin quarter is here!  Let's celebrate the return of the sun!  Remember to come to the International Programs office when you need assistance with any questions or concerns.

Drop-In Hours Begin

Please remember to come to drop-in hours for answers to your brief questions. 

Monday and Thursday, 1-3pm
Tuesday and Wednesday, 10-1pm

If your question is more detailed, you will need to email Beth Robinson or Sandra Kimura to make an appointment.  Your time is very valuable.  This will give us the opportunity to help you more efficiently.

Events:

Please join us for the documentary Crossing Borders, a film aboout 4 American students traveling with 4 Morrocon students, followed by an international student panel on Tuesday, May 22nd from 6-8:30 pm in Heiner Auditorium.

Dropping a Class? 

Every student MUST be full-time enrolled.  Each student must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 academic credits to remain in status.  If you need to make changes to your schedule, you must meet with Beth Robinson.  You can find detailed information about registration deadlines in the registration calendar on OASIS.

Insurance Is Required

All students must have insurance coverage while studying in the United States.  Make sure that you pay each quarter and keep an insurance card with you at all times.  If you have any questions about insurance or our school provider, Lewer Insurance, please come to the International Programs office.

University Transfer

University Transfer 101

If you are a university transfer student and you have not attended the University Transfer 101 workshop, now is your chance!  You will learn about choosing and applying to universities in the United States. 

Date: Tuesday, April 24th
Time: 4-5pm  
Place: SSC 216

After you have attended the University Transfer 101 workshop, please email Beth Robinson, for an appointment to discuss your future academic plans.  
 

Housing

Moved?  New cell phone?  Changed your email?

International students are required to report these changes to the International Programs office within 10 days.  If you have changed your address, telephone number, or email, please complete the Biographic Change Form and return it to the International Programs office.
