Admissions: Getting Started

If you are planning to attend Whatcom and have a high school diploma, a GED, or are 18 or older:

If you are currently attending high school:

Special Admission

Students under age 18: the College does not desire to replace or duplicate the functions of local public schools, so admission exceptions are rare. You may apply for special admissions if you demonstrate competency in academic skills, the ability to benefit in an adult learning environment, and/or a unique artistic, academic, or technical talent. Admissions procedures differ depending on your special needs.

Students under the age of 16 must be reviewed and approved by the Vice President for Educational Services. (Federal grant requirements do not allow students under the age of 16 to enroll in ABE, GED, or ESL courses.) For more information, contact the Running Start Office at 360.383.3123 or via email at rstart@whatcom.ctc.edu.
